Ukraine transits almost 60% of its grain exports through Romania

Romania provides almost 60% of Ukrainian grain transit.

This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

He noted the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the economic and security spheres and said that Romania has become the third largest bilateral trade partner for Ukraine.

"We hope that Romania will make a significant contribution to Ukraine's recovery. Right now, the Rebuilding Ukraine Forum dedicated to this issue is taking place in București," Shmyhal added.

The Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Romania also signed a joint statement on deepening cooperation.

In the statement, they agreed to improve "the transit potential for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products through the full use of EU solidarity routes" and to launch a pilot project of joint border and customs control at checkpoints.

It will be recalled that Romania has approved the conditions for importing Ukrainian grain. It will be possible only for Romanian farmers and processors who document the need to replenish stocks.
