Tom Emmer, a new candidate for Speaker of the US House of Representatives, has been nominated by the Republican Party

Tom Emmer has become the new candidate for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives. Emmer was approved as a result of five rounds of voting at the Republican Party's congressional meeting.

Party members consider Emmer to be a supporter of Ukraine. The Republicans For Ukraine project gave Emmer the highest score for his support of Ukraine. The project monitors and evaluates how US lawmakers from the Republican Party treat Ukraine - voting for certain pro-Ukrainian bills, public statements on Ukraine, etc.

Emmer was among the first American politicians to condemn Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
