President of Romania: Confirmation of Russian drone wreckage falling on Romanian territory would be considered a violation of Romania's territorial integrity
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has said that if the wreckage of a Russian drone is confirmed to have fallen on Romanian territory, it will be considered a violation of his country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
This was reported by DIGI24.
Klaus Johannis demanded an "urgent and professional investigation" into the drone wreckage found on September 6, the time and circumstances under which it entered Romania.
"If it is confirmed that these fragments are part of a Russian drone, this situation will be completely unacceptable and will be a serious violation of Romania's sovereignty and territorial integrity, a NATO ally," the Romanian President said.
Earlier, Klaus Iohannis denied that fragments similar to the wreckage of a Russian drone had fallen on Romanian territory during the attack on the port of Izmail in the Odesa region on the night of September 5. He said this after Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba's statement about the existence of photo evidence.
Romanian Defence Minister Angel Tîlvăr confirmed that the wreckage of a Russian drone had fallen on Romanian territory.
