Lithuania opens Baltic corridor for transit of Ukrainian grain

The Lithuanian government has approved the opening of the Baltic corridor for the transit of Ukrainian grain.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, announced this.

"A corridor for grain transit to Baltic ports has been accepted and agreed, relieving pressure at the Ukrainian border and increasing supply to Africa and beyond," Landsbergis wrote.

It will be recalled that on October 3, Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi and Ministers of Agriculture of Poland and Lithuania Robert Telus and Kęstutis Navickas agreed to transfer border control for all cargoes going to the port of Klaipėda in Lithuania from the Ukrainian-Polish border directly to the port itself.
