Kuleba and Blinken discuss military assistance to Ukraine

Kyiv/Washington Ukraine/USA (Svidomi) — Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. They discussed military assistance to Ukraine.

During the conversation, Kuleba emphasized the need and urgency of continued U.S. and international support for Ukraine, including air defense and artillery ammunition.

The parties discussed ways forward to approve the US support package for Ukraine.

"We cannot allow Russia to use delays in aid to advance, putting all of Europe and the democratic world at risk of an even larger war. Ukraine has demonstrated repeatedly in recent years that with sufficient support, we can defeat Russia on the battlefield. Failure to continue supporting Ukraine would severely undermine the U.S. leadership all across the world and jeopardize American national security," Kuleba said.

The diplomats also exchanged views on the anticipated outcomes of the NATO Washington Summit.

Recently, for the first time since the beginning of the year, the United States announced a new $300 million aid package for Ukraine, which includes HIMARS missiles. To allocate the package, the White House used the funds saved from contracts signed by the Ministry of Defence to replace weapons that the US had previously sent to Ukraine.
