In Moldova, representatives of the banned pro-Russian Șor Party can run in the elections
On October 3, the Constitutional Court of Moldova allowed representatives of the banned pro-Russian party Șor to participate in the elections.
NewsMaker reported this.
On October 3, the Court ruled unconstitutional an amendment to the Electoral Code that banned representatives of unconstitutional parties from running in the elections.
Three judges voted in favour of recognising the amendment as unconstitutional, while two others said they would publish their opinion later.
In June, the country's Constitutional Court declared the party unconstitutional.
After that, the Parliament dissolved the Șor party faction. Its members remained members of Parliament. However, they lost their positions in the Standing Bureau, which organises the work of the Parliament. These MPs will also no longer be part of foreign delegations.
