Every fifth business in Ukraine suffers destruction due to Russia's military actions
More than 20% of businesses in Ukraine have faced destruction and damage due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The World Bank reports.
According to the analysis, metallurgical enterprises suffered the most from the hostilities. 60% of the industry has lost its capitalisation. The eastern regions of Ukraine suffered the most damage, with 47% of enterprises ruined or destroyed.
Over 70% of surveyed Ukrainian businesses reported that their revenues had halved compared to 2021. The number of businesses from the eastern regions is the highest.
The World Bank predicts that Ukraine's GDP will grow slightly in 2024, by only more than 3%.
