Kremlin prisoner Dzhemil Gafarov died in a Russian detention center

Russian security forces ignored requests to provide him with medical care. The man had cardiovascular and kidney diseases.

Lawyer Lilia Hemedzhy reported this to Crimean Solidarity.

It will be recalled that in late January, Gafarov's lawyer Emil Kuberdinov reported that the health condition of the illegally detained Ukrainian citizen was deteriorating. "It is unclear whether I will survive the transfer or not. How will I be transferred for months?" the illegally detained man told him, not getting out of bed due to his poor health.

Russians refused to provide Gafarov with medical care, despite the fact that the man had cardiovascular and kidney diseases. In 2017, he suffered a heart attack.

On January 11, the court delivered a "verdict" in the so-called case of the "second Simferopol group of Hizb ut-Tahrir". Gafarov was among those illegally detained in this case. The Russians sentenced him to 13 years of prison. Gafarov died in the Novocherkassk pre-trial detention center before beginning to serve his sentence.
