Zelenskyy has appointed former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Zaluzhnyi as Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent the British side a request for agrément (the state's agreement to receive the head of a diplomatic mission of another country — ed.)”, the Foreign Ministry's press service said in a statement.

It will be recalled that on February 8, President Zelenskyy changed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleksandr Syrskyi became the head of the Ukrainian army.

That day, Zelenskyy met with Zaluzhnyi and expressed his gratitude for two years of defending Ukraine. They discussed the renewal of the Armed Forces leadership.

On February 9, the President of Ukraine awarded General Valerii Zaluzhnyi the Hero of Ukraine award.
