Zaporizhzhia NPP lost power from the main external power line
ZNPP lost power from the main 750 kV-power line.
This is reported by Energoatom.
The power plant was switched to a 330 kV backup line, the disconnection of which threatens to blackout the plant. In this case, the main threat will be the stay of the Unit 4 in the "hot stop" state.
In the event of a complete loss of power to the plant, the main circulation pumps of ZNPP will be turned off, and the power unit will switch to the "natural circulation" mode.
"In this case, it is necessary to urgently "cool" it down in the absence of cooling pumps," says Taras Tkach, acting executive director for production and repairs at Energoatom.
Tkach adds that the duration of such a mode is limited for the reactor unit and can lead to a failure of the main equipment of the power unit.
As a reminder, on July 4, ZNPP lost power from the main power line. Then the plant was also switched to the 330 kV backup line. On July 6, power supply from the main power line was restored.
