Writer Viktoriia Amelina, who died as a result of a Russian strike on Kramatorsk, was buried in Lviv

Viktoriia Amelina died on July 1 in a hospital in Dnipro. The writer was injured during a missile attack on Kramatorsk on June 27. Amelina was accompanying a Colombian delegation of journalists and writers.

Victoriia Amelina is a writer, member of PEN Ukraine, and winner of the Joseph Conrad Korzeniowski Literary Prize for Ukrainian writers.
The writer founded the New York Literary Festival in the frontline village of New York, Donetsk region.
In the summer of 2022, Viktoriia Amelina joined the human rights organisation Truth Hounds. The writer documented war crimes in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine.

In the Kharkiv region, Amelina found the diary of Ukrainian children's writer Volodymyr Vakulenko, who was killed by Russians during the occupation of Izium.
