Ukrainian Red Cross condemns the actions of the Belarusian Red Cross
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society has condemned the actions of the Belarusian Red Cross. The day before, the head of the Belarusian Society admitted that the organisation was involved in the illegal deportation of children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The Red Cross of Ukraine published a statement on its Facebook page.
"This indicates not only the organisation's deliberate disregard for its statutory obligations under the International Movement but also serious violations of international humanitarian law," the Ukrainian Red Cross states.
They call on the International Committee of the Red Cross to condemn the Belarusian Red Cross and consider its expulsion from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
As the organisation adds, on the eve of the story's publication, information appeared on Telegram channels about Shevtsov's previous trips to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, where he was wearing camouflage and a chevron with the symbol "Z" on his sleeve.
As a reminder, the head of the Belarusian Red Cross Society illegally travelled to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine allegedly with "humanitarian aid". There, he gave an interview to the propaganda channel Belarus 1, in which he stated that the Red Cross of Belarus "has been, is and will be involved" in the removal of children.
