Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk confirms the downing of the Kh-47 Kinzhal cruise missile

The Russians claim that this missile is almost impossible to detect and shoot down.

The Air Force commander published a statement on his Telegram channel on May 6.

On May 5, Defence Express published information about the downing and photos of the wreckage of the Kh-47 Kinzhal. In addition, the Kyiv City Military Administration stated that a ballistic missile was probably shot down over Kyiv. The Kh-47 Kinzhal can follow a so-called quasi-ballistic trajectory.

Instead, the Air Command said that on May 5, it would not comment on these statements and advised to contact Defence Express and KCMA for "additional relevant, timely and reliable information that the enemy will use in the war against Ukraine".

Mykola Oleshchuk also said that Russia could take advantage of the information released in advance.
