Ukraine does not trade its territories or sovereignty - Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responds to Viktor Orban's statements

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko has said that Ukraine and the world do not trade their territories and sovereignty in response to the Hungarian Prime Minister's statements about the "unrealistic" return of Qirim and the need to stop supporting Ukraine.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the West should agree with Russia on a new security architecture. He also added that Ukraine's membership in NATO put the whole world at risk of an inevitable war that would "affect even America".

"The decision is in America's hands. Ukraine is not able to withstand this war on its own. If there is no funding or weapons supplies from the West, especially from America, the war will end," the Hungarian prime minister said when asked about his forecast for 2024. 

The Hungarian prime minister also believes that Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia in a war because of the numerical superiority of the Russian armed forces.

"Anyone involved in politics understands the logic, the numbers and knows that this is impossible. This is a tragedy for Ukraine. They will run out of soldiers before Russia does," he said.

In addition, he called the return of Qirim, occupied by Russia in 2014, "unrealistic".

Viktor Orban also expressed his views on Donald Trump's policy.

Thus, in his opinion, the best way to end the war in Ukraine would be for Donald Trump to return to the US presidency and stop military aid to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to Viktor Orban's statements. 

"We do not know what is happening in Hungary, but Ukraine does not trade either its territories or its sovereignty. And the world will not trade either," Oleh Nikolenko wrote.

It will be recalled that on May 30, the Hungarian government channel published a video showing the territory of Ukraine without the temporarily occupied Qirim. The video calls for a ceasefire and the start of peace talks. 

In addition, during a meeting of the Hungarian Prime Minister's party, officials spoke against the backdrop of a map of "Greater Hungary" that includes regions of other countries, including Ukraine.
