UK designates Wagner PMC as a terrorist organisation

The UK government has proscribed Wagner Group as a terrorist organisation.

This is stated on the government's website.

Supporting Wagner in the country is now considered a criminal offence with a potential 14-year prison sentence.

This step will allow the PMC's assets to be classified as terrorist property and arrested.

In January of this year, the United States recognised the Wagner PMC as a transnational criminal organisation. At that time, the US Government froze the company's assets in the US for its participation in the war against Ukraine.

Subsequently, Lithuania recognised PMC Wagner as a terrorist organisation.

Recently, it became known that the political leadership of the Russian Federation decided to take most of the mercenaries of the Wagner PMC to Africa. They will go from Belarus to Niger, Libya, Sudan, Mali, Central African Republic and Mozambique.
