Two people killed and 17 injured — Russians shelled nine regions of Ukraine.

On the night of June 5, Russians attacked Ukraine with 27 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs. The air defence systems operated in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Sumy and Poltava regions. As a result, 22 Shaheds were shot down. 

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, 22 settlements came under Russian attack: Antonivka, Sadove, Inzhenerne, Bilozerka, Oleksandrivka, Veletenske, Tokarivka, Dniprovske, Honcharne, Shyroka Balka, Novotiahynka, Beryslav, Shliakhove, Krupytsia, Tiahynka, Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Lvove, Arkhanhelske, Chervonyi Maiak, Kachkarivka and Kherson. 

One person was killed, and eight were injured. Three multi-storey buildings and eight private houses were damaged. A school, a dormitory, an office building, a catering facility, shops and a gas pipeline came under fire. 

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, Russians fired 36 times at the border areas and localities over the past day. One hundred and six explosions were recorded. The Yunakivka, Mykolaiv, Khotin, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Svesa, Esman, Shalyhyne, Seredyna Buda, Velyka Pysarivka, Konotop and Nova Sloboda communities underwent shelling. Three people were injured, and one was killed. 

On the night of June 5 alone, Russians fired 12 times at the border areas and settlements of the region, with 36 explosions recorded. The Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Khotin, Bilopillia, Druzhbivka, and Esman communities were under fire.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east, the Russian army targeted eight settlements: Kozacha Lopan, Kamianka, Yurchenkove, Vovchansk, Kucherivka, Zarichne, Staryi Saltiv, Vovchanski Khutory damaging residential buildings, outbuildings and recreation centres. Four people suffered injuries. 

The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled five Russian attacks in the Kupiansk direction, and eight more are ongoing near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Novoiehorivka and Stelmakhivka.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army shelled ten localities: Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Sloviansk, Chasiv Yar, Zhelanne, Kurakhivka, Vesele, Vovche, and Lysivka. Nineteen residential buildings, cars and critical infrastructure were damaged. One person sustained injuries. 

Russians attacked the Poltava region with a UAV. An industrial facility was hit with one person injured. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region, south of Ukraine, which has been partially occupied since 2022, Russians hit seven settlements 440 times: Shyroke, Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Novoandriivka. There were seven reports of residential buildings being destroyed. There were no casualties. 

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, southcentral Ukraine, Russians targeted Kryvyi Rih. A man was injured. Nikopol district experienced 14 kamikaze drone strikes and artillery shelling over the day. Russians shelled the Nikopol (next to the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, where Zaporizhzhia NPP is located), Myrove and Pokrovska communities. An infrastructure facility, five private houses, three outbuildings and a power line were damaged. There were no casualties. On the night of June 5, air defence systems shot down four ‘shahids’ in the region. 

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, the Russian army struck the Kutsurub community and the territory of the Buzka community's summer housing cooperative with an FPV kamikaze drone. One private house was destroyed, and about ten houses were damaged. There were no casualties. On the night of June 5, air defence destroyed six UAVs. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Russians attacked the Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk and Horodnyanka communities with FPV drones, UAVs, artillery and mortars. A total of 87 explosions were recorded. No damage or casualties were reported.
