Two children injured in Kharkiv during Russian shelling

Russia shelled ten regions of Ukraine on June 23. Two people were killed in the Kharkiv and Kherson regions, and 38 people were injured.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs on the afternoon of June 23. Residential buildings and a school building were damaged. Twelve people were injured, including two children and one employee of the State Emergency Service. One person was killed. Russians shelled Kupiansk, Rublenne and Slatyne with artillery and aircraft. Residential buildings, the Nova Poshta office, and the administration building were damaged. One person was wounded in Rublene.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russians launched 2,783 attacks using aircraft, multiple rocket launchers and artillery. They shelled Zalizne, Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Mykolaivka, Selydove, Toretsk, the village of New York, Pivnichne, Vesele, Dovha Balka, Myroliubivka, and Ostrovske. Twelve people were wounded, including two children.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russians shelled Nevske with multiple rocket launchers, Kuzemivka, Stelmakhivka, and Makiivka with mortars and artillery. According to the regional military administration, there were no casualties. Evacuation of residents from the government-controlled part of the Luhansk region continues.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in southcentral Ukraine, the Russian army shelled Nikopol and the community of Myrove with artillery and attack drones. A grocery store, a car, fences, a well, a gazebo, a power line, 15 residential buildings, outbuildings, and gas pipelines were damaged. A woman was wounded.

In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians shelled Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Malynivka, Kamianske, Verkhnia Tersa and Novoandriivka with artillery, aircraft, MLRS and attack drones. A woman was wounded in Verkhnia Tersa.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Kutsurub and Ochakiv communities with artillery. According to the regional military administration, there were no casualties.

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians struck Antonivka, Stepanivka, Veletenske, Tokarivka, Prydniprovske, Dniprovske, Berehove, Stanislav, Kizomys, Poniativka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Beryslav, Chervonyi Maiak, Olhivka, Burhunka, Respublikanets, Mykhailivka, Shliakhove, Urozhaine, Lvove, Tiahynka and Kherson. Eight people were injured, and one person was killed. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled the Semenivka, Snovsk, Horodnia, and Novhorod-Siverskyi communities with artillery, mortars and attack drones. A Shahed kamikaze drone in the Chernihiv district damaged three houses, two shops and a village council building. There were no casualties.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians launched 20 artillery, mortar and attack drone strikes against the communities of Khotin, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Esman, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne and Seredyna-Buda. According to the regional military administration, there were no casualties.

On the morning of June 24, the Russians attacked Odesa, a major seaport city in the southwest of the country, with cruise missiles. A warehouse was damaged. Three people were injured. The aftermath of the shelling is still underway.
