Türkiye and Russia discuss the incident with the bulk carrier "Şükrü Okan"

Türkiye and Russia have discussed the incident with the bulk carrier Şükrü Okan, which was detained by the Russian military on August 13.

This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation at the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate.

The Turkish presidential administration says the incident occurred in international waters, and the ship, although owned by a Turkish company, was flying the flag of Panama.

Nevertheless, Russia was warned about the unacceptability of obstructing the navigation of ships in the Black Sea.

"Despite all this, after interfering with the vessel's movement, the interlocutors in the Russian Federation were duly warned to avoid similar attempts to escalate tensions in the Black Sea," the Turkish administration adds.
