Turkey has struck bases of Kurdish militants in northern Iraq and Syria — the Ministry of National Defence of Turkey.

Turkey has struck bases of Kurdish militants in northern Iraq and Syria —  the Ministry of National Defence of Turkey.

The Ministry notes that Turkey struck to secure the borders of the state and neutralize the Kurdistan Workers' Party, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in the country, the Kurdish People's Protection Units and the Kurdistan Communities Union.

The Ministry emphasizes that the air operation was carried out in accordance with the right to self-defense, specified in Article 51 of the UN Charter. Turkey believes that Kurds use the affected bases for attacks on the country
