Three killed, 56 injured in Russian attack on Kharkiv

On the night of June 23, 2024, Russians attacked with three Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles from the Sea of Azov. The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed two of them in the Kyiv region. 

The Russians attacked Kharkiv, 30 km from the Russian border to the east of Ukraine, with anti-aircraft missiles. Three people were killed and 56 injured. Four people are in serious condition. Residential buildings and commercial pavilions were damaged. A fire broke out in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, as a result of the shelling. A woman was injured. In the Izium district, one person died and five were injured. Two more people were wounded as a result of an FPV drone attack in the Chuhuiv district.

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Russians attacked Chervonyi Maiak, Dniprovske, Dudchany, Beryslav, Novovorontsovka, Kherson, and other settlements. Russians launched a missile attack on the Beryslav district. Residential buildings were damaged. Five people were injured in the region.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and situated on the frontline, in the east, the Russian army shelled Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut districts. In Toretsk, two people were killed and two others wounded. One person was wounded during the shelling of Dronivka. Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. Russians used rockets, bombs and other weapons.

In the Mykolaiv region, south of the country, Russians fired artillery at the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties. 

Russians attacked the Kyiv region with missiles. Residential buildings were damaged as a result of falling debris. Two people were slightly injured and continue to be treated on an outpatient basis. Emergency services are working to eliminate the consequences. 

During the day, Russian troops launched 552 attacks at nine settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022. Russians used aircraft, UAVs, MLRS, artillery and other weapons. Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. In addition, a power engineer who was injured in a Russian missile attack the day before died in hospital. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Russian troops attacked Novhorod-Siversk, Semenivka and Horodnianka  communities with UAVs, cannon artillery and mortars. Ukrainian border guards recorded 71 explosions. There were no casualties. 

The Russian army fired 40 times at border communities in the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north. Ukrainian border guards recorded 125 explosions from FPV drones, small arms, mortars, cannon artillery and tanks.

The Russian army attacked the Nikopol district, Dnipropetrovsk region, next to the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, where Zaporizhzhia NPP is located, with heavy artillery and kamikaze drones. Residential buildings, outbuildings, and an agricultural company were damaged. No one was killed or injured.
