The United States will respond to any use of nuclear weapons by Russia — US National Security Advisor

Jake Sullivan, National Security Adviser to the US president, stated this in a comment on CNN.

Jake Sullivan stressed that the United States believes that along with NATO allies, partners, and other countries, including China and India, it is their duty to "send a very clear and decisive message to Russia" that it should not consider using nuclear weapons.
