The United States is concerned about the growing partnership between Russia and Iran
CIA director William Burns said this on the "Face the Nation" program.
"[The relationship between two countries - ed.] is moving at a pretty fast clip in a very dangerous direction right now. We know that the Iranians have already provided hundreds of armed drones to the Russians, which they're using to inflict pain on Ukrainian civilians and Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. We know that they've provided ammunition for artillery and for tanks as well," Burns said.
According to the CIA Director, the assistance between Russia and Iran may go beyond the supply of drones and ammunition.
William Burns said that in return, Russia offers to help Iran with its missile program and is considering providing fighter aircraft.
It will be recalled that on the night of February 27, the Russian military launched 14 Iranian-made Shahed UAVs at the territory of Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders shot down 11 drones, 9 of them were shot over Kyiv.
