The United States has designated the Wagner PMC as a transnational criminal organisation and expanded sanctions against it — the US Department of the Treasury website.
The United States government has frozen the company's assets in the United States for its participation in the war against Ukraine.
In addition, the United States imposed sanctions on six individuals and 12 organisations.
"Today's sanctions, which are in conjunction with additional sanctions actions by the State Department, target infrastructure that supports the fighting in Ukraine, including Russian weapons manufacturers and those who govern the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine," the ministry's website says.
