The United States called the report of the Ministry of Defense of Russia about Ukraine's alleged preparations for the use of a "dirty bomb" false

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stressed that the world would recognize any attempt by the Russian Federation to use this allegation as a pretext for escalation.

Prior to that, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held talks with the heads of the Defense Ministries of France, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Türkiye and accused Ukraine of preparing provocations using a "dirty bomb."

The foreign ministers of France, the United Kingdom, and the United States condemned these statements.

A "dirty bomb" is a weapon that combines radioactive material with ordinary explosives. It is not a nuclear weapon, and its damage scale is much smaller.
