The so-called "court" terminated the criminal case of a refugee from Uzbekistan killed in the temporarily occupied Crimea. His body had been in the morgue for two years

Political refugee Nabi Rakhimov was charged under eight articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The FSB charged the deceased with allegedly organizing terrorist activities and threatening the lives of Russian employees of the so-called "law enforcement agencies." The defendant's body was in the morgue for almost two years.

Russian investigators proved Rakhimov's guilt with the testimony of two secret witnesses, one of whom could not be interrogated in court.

In addition, Rakhimov's case involved classified operatives who, as they told the court, came to the investigation place on the day of the murder with witnesses but saw nothing because only special forces officers entered the house.

The wife of the murdered asylum seeker, Sokhiba Burkhanova, participated in the trial as a representative of the accused. Currently, Burkhanova has 15 days to appeal the ruling of the Southern District Military Court. If she decides to appeal it, she will have to stay in a temporary detention center for foreign nationals until the ruling comes into force.

It will be recalled that on May 11, 2021, near the temporarily occupied Simferopol, Russians shot dead Uzbek citizen Nabi Rakhimov during detention, claiming that he allegedly put up armed resistance to employees of the so-called "law enforcement agencies."
