The Russian military is holding hostage people at the checkpoint in Vasylivka - the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov

For over two weeks Russian military has allowed only 200 cars to enter the controlled territory of Ukraine.

According to Fedorov, thousands of people from the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Luhansk and Donetsk regions are at the checkpoint.

It was reported earlier that as of October 3, more than 4 thousand people were standing at the Russian checkpoint in Vasylivka.
