The Pope accepts Polish bishop's resignation after scandal party with sex worker in diocese

Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak of Sosnowiec. The priests of his diocese threw a party where they invited a sex worker.

The incident took place in the rector's church of the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Angels in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

Recently, several priests held a party in a building belonging to the parish, for which they had booked a sex worker. During the party, the man became ill, but the participants of the event did not want to let the medics in. The incident was investigated by the police, and then by the prosecutor's office, which is investigating the case for failure to provide assistance.

Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak of the Sosnowiec diocese himself apologised to the faithful: "I ask everyone to forgive my human limitations. If I offended anyone or missed something, I am very sorry."
