A group of Red Cross volunteers, including a team of military surgeons, have managed to enter the Gaza Strip.
The organisation's Inter-American Committee announced in a statement.
The volunteers entered Gaza with six trucks of medical supplies and water purification tablets.
The medical kits will be enough to treat between 1,000 and 5,000 people, depending on the severity of their injuries. The humanitarian convoy also includes chlorine tablets that can treat up to 50,000 litres of drinking water.
It will be recalled that earlier, the UN said that the lack of fuel in Gaza was paralysing the organisation's work.
