The International Committee of the Red Cross mission in Ukraine failed to get to the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region after the Kakhovka HPP was blown up

The ICRC mission failed to get to the left bank of the Dnipro River after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka HPP.

This was reported by Regional Director for Eurasia Ariane Bauer in an interview with Interfax.

Bauer emphasised that the mission would continue negotiations to gain access to the occupied settlements.

"It is always very difficult. We have repeatedly asked for access there and will continue to ask," said Ariane Bauer.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine stated that he was surprised by the reaction of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, who did not arrive in time to the Kherson region.
