The International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression Against Ukraine to open in The Hague
On July 3, the International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression Against Ukraine opens in The Hague. This is one of the steps toward the possible creation of a special tribunal against Russia.
DW reported this.
Prosecutors from Ukraine, the International Criminal Court, the EU, and the United States will work in this centre. In particular, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andrii Kostin, ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan, Assistant US Attorney General Kenneth Polite, and EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders.
The centre will conduct investigations and collect evidence, which will be seen as an interim step before a special tribunal against Russia is established.
The EU said that "the ultimate aim of the centre is prosecuting those responsible for the invasion" of Ukraine.
