The Hungarian government's channel releases a video showing the territory of Ukraine without the temporarily occupied Crimea

On May 30, the Hungarian government's YouTube channel released a video showing a map of Ukraine without the temporarily occupied Crimea. The video calls for a ceasefire and the start of peace talks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Hungary to stop provocations and to comply with its international obligations as a member of the UN, EU and NATO. 

"The designation of the Crimean peninsula as a territory that is not part of Ukraine contradicts the repeatedly stated position of the official Budapest on support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders. Playing along with Russia's aggressive policy does not contribute to a speedy restoration of peace in Europe, which the Hungarian government publicly advocates," the Ministry said.

On behalf of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Ukraine's Charge d'Affaires in Hungary made an official demarche to the Hungarian side.

In April, during a party meeting of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a map of "Greater Hungary" was displayed on the screen, which included the territories of Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Serbia, and Ukraine before World War I. 

In November 2022, Orban came to a football match wearing a scarf depicting "Greater Hungary". The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned the Hungarian ambassador to discuss the incident.
