Many have been working in the city since October-November 2022.

Since last summer, several Russian construction companies have offered migrants from Tojikiston to earn money on reconstruction work in the temporarily occupied Mariupol.

Safarali, one of the Tajik migrants, told Radio Azattyй that about 300 people had not received the promised salary.

"The 'employers' promised to pay up to 120,000 rubles monthly. Instead, they paid less than half the promised amount in the first months.

In December last year, Tajik migrants claimed their employers paid them only half the promised salary.
