Six Ukrainian pilots complete F-16 training in the UK

Six Ukrainian pilots have completed their F-16 fighter jet training in the UK. They will now be trained to fly the fighter jets in Denmark.

The press service of the UK Ministry of Defence reports.

Another ten Ukrainian trainee pilots took part in the language training and will remain for further practical flight training, as well as aviation medicine and centrifuge work.

"I am proud of the support the Royal Air Force is providing to the next generation of Ukraine’s combat air pilots and ground crew, who will be the first line of defence in protecting Ukraine’s skies," said British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps.

Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov also commented on the training of Ukrainian pilots in the UK.

"This is a fast and effective programme that gives Ukrainian pilots the skills they need in the war against Russia... It will prepare them for training on F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft under the supervision of Denmark, the Netherlands and the United States, which lead the Air Force Capacity Building Coalition," Umerov said.

It will be recalled that the Netherlands has decided to transfer the first 18 F-16 fighters to Ukraine.
