Seven people, including four children, were injured in the Russian attack on Kharkiv on May 8

Three boys aged 14-15 are in intensive care. They are in a serious condition. Doctors are trying to save a limb for one of them. 

The other victim is an 8-year-old girl. She sustained a minor injury and is in moderate condition.

In total, the Russians attacked about 15 settlements in the Kharkiv region bordering Russia: Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Berestove and others. The settlements of Bilyi Kolodiaz, Staryi Saltiv and Lukiantsi were bombed from the air. In Bilyi Kolodiaz, four private houses, a hospital and a car were damaged.

In the Donetsk region, where the front line runs, the Russians attacked the communities of Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Hirnyk, Selydove, Lyman, Kostiantynivka, Mykolaivka, Illinivka, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk and Siversk. In total, the Donetsk region suffered 1,870 hostile attacks over the past day. Three people were injured. Thirty-one civilian objects were damaged, including 23 residential buildings, administrative buildings, cars, power lines and a gas pipeline.

The Russian army attacked the Sumy region, which lies in the north of the country and borders Russia, 42 times. The communities of Yunakivka, Miropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivska, Esman, Shalyhine, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novgorodske came under fire. No casualties were reported. 

In the Chernihiv region, which borders Russia and Belarus, Russians attacked the communities of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk with artillery and mortars. No damage was reported. 

In the Mykolaiv region, in the south of the country, the communities of Ochakiv and Kutsurub came under Russian attack. In Pervomaisk, the building of the former community centre was partially destroyed by a Shahed 136/131 drone strike. A fire broke out at the site of the strike. There were no casualties. 

In the Kherson region, part of which has been occupied since 2022 and where the front line passes, the Russians attacked Veletenske, Kizomys, Stanislav, Inzhenerne, Poniativka, Sadove, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Beryslav, Mykhailivka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Lvove and Kherson. Twelve multi-storey buildings and 54 private houses were damaged. Critical and transport infrastructure, an administrative building, a post office, industrial facilities and gas pipelines were hit. One person was injured. 

On May 8, Russians attacked Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing two people and injuring two others. Apartment blocks, gas pipelines and outbuildings were damaged. On the night of May 9, Russians attacked the town again. A private house was damaged. There were no casualties. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region, part of which has been occupied since 2022 and where the front line runs, the Russians shelled ten settlements in the region 360 times over a day. There were 50 reports of residential destruction. A 65-year-old woman was injured in Russian shelling of the village of Mahdalynivka.
