Sanctioned oligarch Pavlo Fuks has UK residency
Pavlo Fuks, who has done business in both Ukraine and Russia, continues to reside in the UK despite Ukrainian sanctions.
This was reported by The Guardian.
The oligarch entered the United Kingdom in 2012 on a so-called golden visa — Fuks pledged to invest a minimum of £1m in the country. He now frequents the upmarket London restaurant Ormer Mayfair.
In 2021, Ukraine imposed sanctions on Fuks. The grounds for the sanctions are his involvement in the Golden Derrick gas production company and numerous violations in obtaining licences for mining in Ukraine. Fuks denies this and calls the sanctions personal revenge against the head of the National Security Council, Oleksii Danylov.
In 2022, Rolling Stone claimed that on the eve of the full-scale invasion, Fuks had paid for the creation of anti-Semitic graffiti, even though he is Jewish. This information was allegedly confirmed by US Intelligence. Fuks was allegedly carrying out orders from Russia so that he could continue to do business there.
