Russians set up at least 28 special antennas at their diplomatic missions in Moldova

Investigative journalists discovered equipment at Russian diplomatic buildings that could be used for electronic intelligence against Moldova.

The Moldovan television channel Jurnal TV reported this.

The antennas are installed on the roofs of two buildings that are part of the Russian diplomatic complex in Chișinău.

These antennas are capable of intercepting telephone conversations, data transmitted via Wi-Fi, and other similar types of communications.

In addition, the roofs of these buildings also have special structures that may contain other devices for intercepting confidential communication channels. For example, they are capable of intercepting satellite phone calls, as well as communications of the armed forces and police.

Russia is installing such equipment at its embassies across Europe. In the past, EU member states such as Belgium and the Netherlands expelled Russian electronic intelligence specialists to make it more difficult to use this equipment. These intelligence officers worked under diplomatic cover.
