Russians launch largest drone attack on Kyiv in a year
The drones hit Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, in waves and from every possible direction. The air raid lasted over seven hours. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties in Kyiv.
As a result of the night attack, 13 private houses in four districts of the Kyiv region suffered damage. There were no hits to residential or critical infrastructure. There were no casualties. Most of the drone debris fell outside of populated areas.
In total, Ukrainian air defences downed an X-59 missile and all 89 Shahed drones launched by the Russians.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Kucherivka and Mala Komyshuvakha. Two people were killed.
In the Donetsk region, located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine and partially occupied since 2014, the Russians fired 2,531 times at Kurakhove, Lyman, Toretsk, Hrodivka, Virolyubivka, Illinivka, Mykolaivka of the Kostiantynivka community, Mykolaivka of the Novohrodivka community and Novozhelanne. One person was killed and four others sustained injuries. 13 residential buildings, educational institutions, shops, an administrative building, a cafe, and the power grid were damaged.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians fired 17 times at the Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Esman, Khotin and Seredyna-Buda communities. The military recorded 27 explosions. There were no casualties.
In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Sadove, Antonivka, Novokaiiry, Chornobaivka, Odradokamianka, Komyshany, Novovorontsovka, Beryslav, Oleksandrivka, Virivka, Tiahynka, Novotiahynta, Sukhanove, Romashkove, Lvove, Havrylivka and Kherson came under Russian attack. Two high-rise buildings, 46 private houses, gas pipelines, outbuildings, a lock-up and private cars were damaged. One person was killed and five others were injured.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russians attacked Nikopol, as well as the Pokrovsk and Marhanets communities. There were no casualties. 14 private houses, outbuildings, a garage, power lines and a social institution were damaged.
In the Zaporizhzhia in the south, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians launched 395 shells at Stepnohirsk, Mali Shcherbaky, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Novodanylivka, Malynivka, Levadne, Omelnytsia and Zelenyi Hai. There are 16 reports of residential buildings being destroyed. No casualties were reported.
