Russian troops launch a large-scale offensive in Luhansk region — Institute of War Studies
The pace of Russian operations along the Svatove-Kreminna line in western Luhansk region has increased markedly over the past week, and Russians are gradually advancing along the administrative border of Kharkiv and Luhansk regions.
The Russian military command appears to have fully engaged units from several divisions in offensive operations along the Svatove-Kreminna line. The involvement of significant parts of at least three major Russian divisions in offensive operations in the area indicates that the Russian offensive has begun, even if the Ukrainian military has so far prevented the Russians from gaining significant ground.
The ISW notes that the Russian offensive may not have reached its full scale yet, as the command has not yet deployed units of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division, which was redeployed to Luhansk Oblast in January after being deployed to Belarus.
