Russian shelling during the week leaves at least 150 wounded and 20 dead

During the week, over 418 explosions were reported in the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north. The Russian army struck with attack drones, cannon artillery, mortars and Iskander. The Semenivka, Snovsk, Koriukivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi communities came under fire. No casualties were recorded.

Over the week, the Russians conducted more than 1,200 strikes in the Sumy region, bordering Russia in the north of Ukraine. Residential buildings, a cultural centre and infrastructure facilities were destroyed. Two people were injured. More than 30 settlements came under Russian fire. 

Over the past week, Russians launched at least 97 attacks with aircraft bombs, attack drones, mortars, artillery and S-300 anti-aircraft systems on the settlements in the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine. Kupiansk, Vovchansk, Borova, Kharkiv and other localities came under attack. Fifty-five people were injured, 11 of them children. Seven civilians were killed. This was reported to Svidomi by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region. 

Over the past week, Russians opened fire 14,058 times in the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine. The Russian army used artillery, aircraft, attack drones, anti-aircraft systems, guided aerial drones and multiple launch rocket systems. According to the National Police, three people were killed and 21 wounded. The Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Bakhmut districts came under Russian attack.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, in southcentral Ukraine, one of the most important industrial regions of the country, Russians shelled the Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad and Dnipro districts at least 56 times with heavy artillery and drones. The shelling left nine civilians with injuries of varying severity. Power lines, private houses, administrative buildings, and shops were damaged. 

During the week, Russians launched 2,567 attacks in the Zaporizhzhia region, which has been partially occupied in the south since 2022. Russians used artillery, attack drones, and aircraft. According to the regional military administration, 86 private houses were destroyed. One man was injured during a Russian attack on the Zaporizhzhia district.

Russian troops shelled the Kutsurub and Ochakiv communities, the Voznesenskyi and Mykolaiv districts, and the city of Mykolaiv in the south of Ukraine. The settlements came under fire from artillery, cruise missiles, mortars, kamikaze drones, and Shaheds. Agriculture, an industrial enterprise, residential buildings and power lines were damaged in the region. There were no reported casualties.

The Kherson region, partially occupied since 2022, suffered 159 attacks over the past week. Thirty-one settlements came under fire. According to the regional military administration, 45 private houses, three high-rise buildings, power lines, gas pipelines, and educational institutions were damaged. Two people were killed and 13 injured.

Russians continue to launch rocket attacks on Odesa, a major seaport in the south-west of the country. Russian troops used ballistic missiles at least three times during the week during attacks on the city. At least 49 people were injured and eight were killed. Civilian infrastructure, warehouses and residential buildings were destroyed. 

On the night of April 27, Russians launched missile attacks in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions in the west of the country. Critical infrastructure objects came under fire. Fires broke out. There were no casualties or damage to residential infrastructure. 

On the night of April 28, Ukrainian air defence systems shot down one Russian UAV over the Khmelnytskyi region in the west of the country. No one was killed or injured.

On April 29, Russians shelled the Poltava region in the central part of Ukraine. Explosions were heard in the Myrhorod district. There were no casualties or hits to the civilian or critical infrastructure.
