Russian security forces allegedly detain Igor Girkin
Law enforcement agencies have allegedly detained Igor Girkin (Strelkov), the former leader of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic."
His wife, Miroslava Reginskaya, reported this on Strelkov's social media.
"Today, at about 11:39 a.m., representatives of the Investigative Committee came to our house. I was not at home at that time. After that, according to the concierge, my husband was led out by the arms and taken away in an unknown direction," Reginskaya wrote.
Girkin's lawyer confirmed in a comment to Russian media that he had been taken from his home around noon. His apartment is being searched by the Investigative Committee.
Girkin is allegedly accused of extremism.
