Russian attacks on October 23 leave sixteen injured and four dead

On the night of October 24, Russia launched two X-22 cruise missiles, two X-59 guided missiles, 50 Shahed combat drones and UAVs of unspecified types. The Air Defence Forces reported the downing of 40 combat drones in the Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Poltava and Chernihiv regions. Another seven drones lost radar contact. The missiles did not reach their targets.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Lisne, Bezruky, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, and Kupiansk. Nineteen private houses, a kindergarten, an outbuilding and garages underwent damage. Three civilians suffered injuries.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russians launched 2,456 attacks on Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, Selydove, and Novoukrainka. Eighteen residential buildings, a boiler house, cars and an administrative building received damage. Four civilians sustained injuries. 

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Nikopol, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka, and Myrove communities. An office, a dental clinic, two petrol stations, a car wash, industrial enterprises, three multi-storey buildings and as many private houses, outbuildings, several cars, a lock-up and a power line were damaged. One civilian suffered injuries.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians struck nine settlements with 316 shells. Eight private houses and a car were damaged. Two civilians died.

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Kutsurub and Ochakiv communities. A car was damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Chornobaivka, Mykilske, Inzhenerne, Prydniprovske, Veletenske, Kizomys, Bilozerka, Shyroka Balka, Tomyna Balka, Rozlyv, Novodmitrivka, Oleksandrivka, Stanislav, Sofiyivka, Zymivnyk, Beryslav, Shliakhove, Novooleksandrivka, Mylove, Novovorontsovka, Lvove, and Odradokamianka. Nine multi-storey buildings and 29 private houses, a power line, railway tracks, a gas pipeline, a petrol station, private garages and cars got damaged. Seven civilians were injured and two died. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled the Novhorod-Siverskyi, Chernihiv, and Koriukivka communities. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians struck 213 times at 35 settlements. A critical infrastructure facility and two shops were damaged. The local police report no casualties. 

Drone attacks in the Khmelnytskyi region, west of Ukraine, damaged a residential building, a hotel, and a library. One civilian was injured.
