Russian attack leaves 17 civilians injured in Kryvyi Rih

On the night of 20 October, Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles, Shahed combat UAVs, and unidentified drones. The Air Force reported the downing of 31 UAVs in the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Odesa, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, Russians shelled Nikopol, the Marhanets community, and Kryvyi Rih.  Five private houses, an outbuilding, a garage, power lines, a hotel, a shop, an administrative building, an educational institution, 15 apartment buildings, a coffee shop, a bank office, and a gas pipeline were damaged. About 30 vehicles were damaged, including three fire trucks, three police cars and an ambulance.  Infrastructure was damaged.  The strike on Kryvyi Rih injured 17 civilians.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. During the day, the Russians struck 247 times in the region. Seventy-eight residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were destroyed. The strike on Zaporizhzhia injured ten civilians, including children aged nine and 13.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, Russia attacked Kurakhove, Viroliubivka, Zoria, Novoselydivka, Pryshyb, Stinky, and Yasna Poliana. Twenty-six residential buildings and educational institutions were damaged. A recreation center was destroyed. One civilian was killed, and one was injured. A total of 2,437 shellings in the region were recorded over the day.

In the Kyiv region, the outer wall of a multi-story building was slightly damaged as a result of the fall of the wreckage of a downed drone. In Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, three residential buildings, nine cars, and a restaurant were damaged as a result of a UAV attack. One civilian was injured.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russians attacked Novoyehorivka and Balka Zhuravka. They used aircraft and artillery systems.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the waters of the Ochakiv community came under mortar fire. The regional military administration reported no casualties.

In the Poltava region in the central part of Ukraine, the Russians attacked the Lubny district. Two private buildings were damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russian army shelled the communities of Sumy, Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Nova Sloboda, Shalyhyne, Esman, Svesa, Druzhba, Seredyna-Buda, and Romny. Twenty-seven multi-story buildings, seven administrative buildings, three shops, 11 cars, medical facilities, a sports school, a city printing house, and a business premises were damaged. Seven civilians, including a child, were wounded in the shelling.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, Russia attacked Kharkiv, Derhachi, and the Solonytsivka community. Four private houses, a car, five multi-story buildings, and a fence were damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Kherson, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Antonivka, Komyshany, Bilozerka, Veletenske, Kizomys, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, and Sablukivka were hit by Russian Federation. A critical infrastructure facility, an educational institution, an administrative building, a multi-story building, eight private houses, and agricultural machinery were damaged. One civilian was killed, and seven were injured.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Yanzhulivka, Mykolaivka, Karpovychi, Leonivka, Huta-Studenetska, Senkivka and Hasychivka came under fire from the Russian army.
