Russian Ambassador Sergey Andreev summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry
Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreev has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs because of Putin's statements.
This was reported by the Polish media outlet WNP.
Following the meeting, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński said that Andreev's position showed that Russia did not intend to achieve any goals through diplomacy.
"Such provocative behaviour on the part of Russia has been going on for months, so we expect more provocations in the near future. In many countries around the world, Russia tried to influence the election results through disinformation activities. Poland is no exception," said the Deputy Foreign Minister.
In autumn 2023, Poland will hold elections to the Sejm.
On July 21, during a speech at a meeting of the Security Council, Vladimir Putin said that Poland "wants to get involved in the conflict in Ukraine in order to return its historical territories - Western Ukraine". The Russian president also said that it was thanks to Stalin that Poland had gained "significant territories in the West".
