Russia may be preparing to block the sea route to Ukraine's ports — British Intelligence
After Russia withdrew from the Grain Initiative, the Russian Black Sea Fleet changed its position at sea and is likely preparing to block Ukrainian ports.
The UK Ministry of Defence intelligence reported this.
According to the United Kingdom, the Russian ship Sergey Kotov has begun patrolling the shipping lane between the Bosphorus and Odesa.
"There is a realistic possibility that it will form part of a task group to intercept commercial vessels Russia believes are heading for Ukraine," the Intelligence wrote.
It noted that the Black Sea Grain Initiative had restrained hostilities at sea, but now "there is a potential for the intensity and scope of violence in the area to increase."
On July 25, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported an alleged attack by remote-controlled boats on the patrol ship Sergei Kotov.
After Russia withdrew from the grain deal, it has been intensifying its attacks on southern Ukraine.
It will be recalled that the US State Department has reported that Russia is preparing a provocation in the Black Sea.
