Russia is creating a new formation, the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation, the British Ministry of Defence reported.
The new formation will combine and strengthen other units operating in the Kherson region. In particular, these units include the 22nd Army Corps, the troops that usually constitute the Russian garrison in occupied Crimea, the report said.
"The 18th Combined Arms Army is likely to consist mostly of mobilised personnel and to focus on defensive security operations in the south of Ukraine," the British intelligence noted.
