Russia detains a 100 Ukrainian civilians in the temporarily occupied Crimea and tortures them — ZMINA Human Rights Center
The imprisoned deputy of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Nariman Celâl, reports in a letter on the use of torture in the Simferopol pre-trial detention center against Ukrainians who were abducted from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to him, Ukrainians are subjected to physical abuse and moral humiliation here. He believes that about a hundred people are being held here.
While returning from the court to the pre-trial detention center, Celâl met Yaroslav Zhuk, a kidnapped Melitopol resident. According to him, the man is hard of hearing and has been subjected to inhuman torture. In Simferopol, Ukrainian citizens are held in the women's wing of the detention center under strict supervision.
It will be recalled that Nariman Celâl was illegally sentenced to 17 years in prison.
