Romania joins boycott against UEFA's decision to return Russian Under-17 teams to competitions

The Romanian Football Federation has announced that it refuses to participate in tournaments with the Russians despite UEFA's permission.

The federation's press service reported this.

"The Romanian Football Federation believes that it should be in solidarity with the spirit of the sanctions approved by European and national institutions and will not play any official or friendly matches with the Russian Federation national team," the official statement said.

It will be recalled that UEFA has allowed Russian U-17 teams to participate in official international competitions. Poland, Latvia, Sweden, and Lithuania opposed the decision. The UK, Denmark, Finland, and Norway also joined the boycott.
