Rheinmetall plans to establish a repair centre for Leopard tanks in Ukraine
The German company Rheinmetall plans to set up a repair centre for Leopard tanks in Ukraine at the end of this summer.
Reuters writes about this, citing the CEO of the industrial group, Armin Papperger.
The centre will also repair other military equipment provided by the government.
"We are currently already training Ukrainians in Germany for this job," Papperger said.
The repair centre in Ukraine should reduce the distances tanks have to be transported, although it also poses security concerns.
Earlier, Putin's inner circle said Russia would attack any facility Rheinmetall establishes in Ukraine.
