Religious scholar Ihor Kozlovskyi dies of a heart attack
Ukrainian scientist and religious scholar Ihor Kozlovskyi died at the age of 69 of a heart attack.
This was reported by his nephew, Denys Kozlovskyi.
"Tonight, Ihor Kozlovskyi passed away following a heart attack," religious scholar Liudmyla Filipovych wrote on Facebook.
For two years (2016-2017), Kozlovskyi was held captive by the "DNR" militants, where he was tortured for his pro-Ukrainian position.
Kozlovskyi is the author of over 50 academic books and over 200 articles in various publications. Among the areas of his work was the religious situation in the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
He also participated in international conferences and meetings, including with Pope John Paul II.
