Qazaqstan to ban Russian symbols associated with the Russian invasion of Ukraine
The Qazaq authorities, together with the Prosecutor General's Office, are working to ban Russian symbols associated with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
This was reported by Echo of the Caucasus.
We are talking about the letters "Z" and "V" and the symbols of the Wagner PMC.
In addition, the ban may affect goods with the inscriptions "Army of Russia" and "Polite People", as well as the emblem of the "Kurdistan and East Turkestan Workers' Party".
The prosecutor of the Department for the Protection of Public Interests noted that "individual representatives of different ethnic groups display different ethnic symbols in public space", which causes a mixed reaction in society.
As part of the restrictions, the prosecutor's office proposed that the government ban the manufacture, transportation and distribution in Kazakhstan of products with symbols used by opposing parties in armed conflicts. It also proposes to introduce administrative liability for the distribution of such products.
